Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable criticality safety management in consideration to existence of an included non-nuclear fuel material.SOLUTION: A criticality management method of a management target is configured to: measure a γ-ray generated by a neutron capture reaction of a measurement object nuclide discharged from the management object including a radioactive nuclide and a measurement object nuclide generating a neutron capture reaction and a γ-ray generated by a nuclear fission reaction of a nuclear fuel nuclide; calculate a neutron capture reaction rate of the measurement object nuclide on the basis of a measurement value of the γ-ray generated by the neutron capture reaction; calculate a nuclear fission rate of the nuclear fuel on the basis of the measurement value of a γ-ray generated by a nuclear fission reaction; calculate a ratio between the neutron capture reaction rate and the nuclear fission rate; and use the ratio to calculate a neutron infinite multiplication factor evaluation value in consideration to reduction in the measurement object nuclide by the neutron capture reaction and perform the criticality management.
