PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deficiency in power supply amount when returning to port by self-operated navigation after a fire or an occurrence of water entering vessel while suppressing rising in cost of equipment and increase in weight.SOLUTION: A sailing method is for a vessel 1A including: a plurality of main generators 20A, 20B for supplying power to a sailing equipment used in normal sailing and a housing equipment provided in a hull 2; an emergency generator 30 for supplying power to an emergency equipment 103 when a fire or entry of water occurs and the sailing method includes: an emergency power supply process for supplying power to the emergency equipment 103 by the emergency generator 30 when at least one portion of a plurality of main generators 20A, 20B are incapable of being used due to the fire or the entry of water; and a power supply process for returning-to-port for supplying power to returning-to-port equipment 104 necessary for sailing for returning-to-port by the main generators 20A, 20B and the emergency generator 30 after the fire or the entry of water is settled down.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
