Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting method of a honeycomb formed body in which end surface of a pre-firing honeycomb formed body may be pertinently cut and finished at a low cost and a producing method of a honeycomb structure.SOLUTION: A cutting method of a honeycomb formed body 1 comprises: an end surface cutting step where both end surfaces 5 of a honeycomb formed body 1 of pre-firing ceramics is cut with a blade type rough cut grindstone 11 on which a rough abrasive grain layer is formed; a honeycomb formed body rotation step where the honeycomb formed body 1 is rotated around central axis orthogonal to the end surfaces 5 of the honeycomb formed body 1 as a rotational axis; and an end surface finishing step where two finish polishing grindstones 21 are arranged in a manner where finish abrasive grain layers formed on the finish polishing grindstones 21 faces each other with a predetermined distance and rotated around central axes 23 of the finish polishing grindstones 21 as rotational axes, and the honeycomb formed body 1 is moved in direction orthogonal to the rotational axis to pass through a gap between two finish polishing grindstones 21 so that cut section 5a is polished to be finished.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
