Abstract:
The present invention relates to an internal combustion engine and, particularly, to a cylinder liner (1) for a two-stroke crosshead engine. The cylinder liner (1) comprises: a first end part coupled to a cylinder cover (22); scavenging ports (18); a circumferential cooling recess (31) for liquid coolant which has an opening part extended in the circumferential direction from the outer surface of a wall (29) of the cylinder liner (1) and is located in the wall of the cylinder liner (1) near the first end part; and an axial support member (36) which is at least partly inserted into the cylindrical cooling recess (31). The axial support member (36) bridges the opening part extended in the circumferential direction and has outlet opening parts (42) for coolant and inlet opening parts (43) for coolant.
