A cylinder lubricating apparatus (55) for supplying cylinder lubricating fluid through a plurality of injectors (24) to an inner surface (25) of a cylinder liner (1) of a large two-stroke uniflow-compression ignition internal combustion engine. The injectors (24) are distributed around the circumference of the cylinder liner (1). The cylinder liner (1) defines a cylinder inside, and a reciprocating piston (10) is slidably disposed inside the cylinder. The cylinder lubricating apparatus includes a plurality of piston pumps each having an oil distribution plunger (70) slidably disposed in a distribution cylinder (71), each of the distribution cylinders (71) including a pump chamber (72) ) in fluid connection with a pump outlet (62) for fluid connection with one of the plurality of injectors(24); a common drive (80) for simultaneously driving all the oil distribution plungers (70); a hydraulic linear actuator (83) operatively connected to the common drive (80), and for adjusting the length of the stroke of the common drive during operation of the cylinder lubricating apparatus (55) to any device of the at least two predetermined discrete lengths (L1, L2) of the stroke in the operation of the cylinder lubricating apparatus (55).
