Abstract:
To provide a check dam capable of being constructed even on a small trough, and as a result, allowing hazards caused by debris flow to be effectively reduced.SOLUTION: A check dam is constructed by: erecting a side supporting column 2a at each of both end parts in a width direction of a trough R; erecting a plurality of middle supporting columns 2b, 2c between the side supporting columns 2a; fastening ropes 6a to 6c suspended between side supporting columns 2a at both ends to each of the middle supporting columns 2b, 2c; and putting up a ring type net 18 in a generally width direction of a trough R through connecting the ropes 6a to 6c. Further, the check dam is constructed by: arranging the middle supporting column 2b, 2c at down stream positions in the trough from the side supporting column 2a at both end parts; arranging the middle column 2c which is positioned nearer a central part in the width direction of the trough at a further down stream position; and installing top end parts of side columns 2a at both end part at a position in a vertical direction higher than top end parts of the middle supporting column 2b, 2c at a position in a vertical direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
