Abstract:
To provide a vibration damping device that is advantageous in simply providing an opening such as a window or an entrance in a column-beam frame.SOLUTION: When an upper beam B2 is horizontally displaced with respect to a lower beam B1, a second arm 10B swings around a link support shaft 18 as a fulcrum via an upper pin 22 and a second long groove 1006. Accordingly, a first arm 10A swings integrally with this swinging via a damper pin 20 and a first long groove 1004, and a piston rod 802 moves in and out with respect to a cylinder case 801. That is, the vibration of horizontal displacement of the upper beam B2 with respect to the lower beam B1 is converted to a vertical direction by a link 10 to move the piston rod 802 in the vertical direction, thereby expanding and contracting an oil damper 8A. The expansion and contraction of the oil damper 8A suppresses the vibration of the upper beam B2, thereby ensuring the seismic performance of a building.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
