Abstract:
To provide a vibration damping mechanism for a building, which has a tuned mass damper capable of eliminating the necessity of a building structure design to which the weight of a mass constituting the tuned mass damper is added and preventing psychological resistance from being given to residents.SOLUTION: A vibration damping mechanism 100 for a building having a curtain-wall type outer wall 10 is constructed such that the outer wall 10 is set as a mass, a viscoelastic body 71 is provided between the structural skeleton and the outer wall 10 of the building formed by a pillar 50 and beams 20, 40, and a tuned mass damper is formed by the mass 10 and the viscoelastic body 71.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
