Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of an air explosion or jumping out of a product due to a setting error or setting failure related to a set value, which is compared with the pressure of a main ram for emitting an upset completion signal for an extrusion press and is changed by an operator per product.SOLUTION: A deaeration control method for an extrusion press enables an extrusion pressure of a main ram at first and second upset completion positions to be set at or above a pressure necessary to crush billets and at or below a pressure which prevents a product from jumping out of a die without exceeding a minimum extrusion pressure when extruding a billet.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
