Abstract:
A on-demand control system (16) for an automated vehicle (10), the system (16) including an on-demand driving pedal and a control unit for controlling the on-demand driving pedal, the on-demand driving pedal including an actuator made of electro-active polymer and a stretch sensor, the control unit being configured to shape the on-demand driving pedal, the control unit being configured to collect information from the stretch sensor to send driving commands to the vehicle (10) allowing driving control of the vehicle (10) by a user through interaction of the user with the on-demand driving pedal and to retract the on-demand driving pedal. An automated vehicle (10) including such on-demand control system (16). A method of operating the automated vehicle (10).
