Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a desulfurizing agent for enabling a sulfur compound used as odorant to be removed for a long time at -20 to 300 deg.C from a fuel gas such as town gas or LPG (liquefied petroleum gas), and to provide a fuel cell power generation system utilizing the desulfurizing agent. SOLUTION: This desulfurizing agent for adsorbing and removing a sulfur compound from a fuel gas containing the sulfur compound comprises a zeolite- based carrier and a catalytically active metal borne on the carrier. The other objective fuel cell power generation system includes a reformer 2 for producing hydrogen by reaction between the desulfurizing agent, the fuel gas desulfurized by the agent and water and a solid polymer fuel cell 5 set downstream of the reformer 5 and designed to generate electric power from the hydrogen produced as above.
