Abstract:
To achieve both prevention of pressure drop in a filter provided in a developing device and reduction in the amount of toner scattered to the outside of the developing device.SOLUTION: A developing device comprises: a developing rotating body that carries and conveys a developer including a toner and a carrier toward a position where an electrostatic latent image formed on an image carrier is developed; an opening for exhausting air inside the developing device to the outside of the developing device; and a filter that is provided opposite to the opening for capturing the toner. The size of the average opening of the filter is equal to or more than the size of the volume average particle diameter of the toner and is equal to or less than the size of a particle diameter at which the volume cumulative frequency of the toner carried on the developing rotating body becomes 90%.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
