少なくとも横長の金属製品（Ｐ）を曲げるための装置及び方法であって、金属製品（Ｐ）を供給するための供給路（１１）と、供給路（１１）の下流側に配置されるとともに、第一コントラスト部材（１５）と、金属製品（Ｐ）を第一曲げ平面（π）上において第一コントラスト部材（１５）の周りで曲げるように構成された第一曲げ部材（１６）と、を備えた曲げユニット（１２）とを有する。本装置は、金属製品（Ｐ）の供給路（１１）からの出口端部（２１）の近傍に設けられた第二コントラスト部材（２２）と、曲げユニット（１２）に設けられる、又は、曲げユニット（１２）の直近に設けられるとともに、金属製品（Ｐ）を第二コントラスト部材（２２）の周りで、かつ、第一曲げ平面（π）を横断する第二曲げ平面（β）上で曲げるために、第一曲げ平面（π）を横断する方向（Ｔ）において選択的に移動可能な第二曲げ部材（２７）、とを有する。
