PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for preventing theft of a first vehicle component which is releasably connected to a second vehicle component.SOLUTION: A theft preventing device 101 includes: a cover member 103 arranged for obstructing removal of a first component 3 from a second component; and a locking member 105 configured for locking the cover member in an operational position in which the cover member obstructs the removal of the first component from the second component. The locking member 105 comprises an engagement pattern 117 configured for mating only with an engagement pattern of a service tool.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
