Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for properly determining therapeutic agent effective to a patient out of a plural kinds of diabetic therapeutic agents based on the genetic background for every patient.SOLUTION: The invention provides a method comprising a step (S1) of obtaining a subject's gene polymorphism information and clinical data, a step (S2) of identifying whether a specific gene polymorphism is present in the obtained gene polymorphism information, and a step (S4) of determining the efficacy of a therapeutic agent based on the information of the presence or absence of the specific gene polymorphism and clinical data. For determination, an estimated HbA1c value depression of the subject and the estimated HbA1c value depression of a normal patient are calculated using a regression equation pre-determined by multiple regression analysis, and the therapeutic agent is determined to be effective when the estimated depression of the subject is larger than the estimated depression of the normal patient.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
