Abstract:
To provide a differential capable of suppressing a preload change of a tapered bearing with a temperature change (the preload change of the tapered bearing at the time of a high temperature) while suppressing an increase in the mass and cost (namely, without a great increase in the mass and cost), even when the differential is formed of a material having a smaller thermal expansion coefficient than a transmission case or a reducer case.SOLUTION: A differential 12 includes a differential case 14 formed of a metallic material having a smaller thermal expansion coefficient than a reducer case 11, tapered bearings 15, 16 for rotatably supporting the differential case 14, and a bearing retainer 121 formed of a metallic material having a thermal expansion coefficient which is the same or almost the same as that of the differential case 14, and mounted with the differential case 14 and the tapered bearing 16 covered.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
