Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zero energy traffic light system responding to disaster capable of keeping traffic lights working stably to avoid traffic accidents even though a power company is inevitably forced to cut electricity to the whole town because of unexpected shutdown of power stations or substations at the time of natural disasters including a major earthquake.SOLUTION: Provided is a zero energy traffic light system responding to disaster which is capable of keeping traffic lights flashing by supplying power generated from natural energy only and with variations in power generation reduced by a storage battery even at the time of power failure. With LED traffic lights in use instead of traditional types using bulbs, traffic lights can be kept flashing continually and automatically for a long time by combining a power generator such as a solar panel capable of stably supplying power and storage batteries.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
