PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispersant for carbon capable of obtaining a carbon dispersion finely dispersed with carbon even when the carbon is nanocarbon having high cohesiveness.SOLUTION: A dispersant for carbon contains a copolymer (A) including a unit derived from maleic acids and a unit derived from a polyoxyalkylene compound expressed by formula (I): RO(AO)Ror a unit derived from styrenes together with the two units and an amine (B) expressed by formula (II) (where, Ris a 4-22C saturated/unsaturated hydrocarbon which may have one or more substituents; Rand Rare respectively a 3 or less C hydrocarbon which may have H independently and one or more substituents or -(AO)-Ror R-Ris a heterocycle which may have one or more substituents together with N bonding thereto; AO is a 2-4C oxyalkylene; n is an integer of 2-10; and Ris H or a 1-4C alkyl).SELECTED DRAWING: None
