PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device and display method of a monitoring object person monitoring system which can properly display a plurality of pieces of monitoring information and easily perform determination on countermeasures according to the monitoring information, and provide the monitoring object person monitoring system.SOLUTION: A portable terminal unit as one example of a display device being the device which receives and displays monitoring information on a monitoring object person in a monitoring object person monitoring system for monitoring the plurality of monitoring object persons by detecting the prescribed behaviors of the plurality of monitoring object persons and notifying of the information continues display of a monitoring information display screen displaying the monitoring information on one monitoring object person when the prescribed input operation is received even in a case where the monitoring information on another monitoring object person is received during display of the monitoring information display screen displaying the monitoring information on the one monitoring object person, and, on the other hand, updates the monitoring information display screen during display in accordance with the monitoring information on the one monitoring object person that is further received in a case where the monitoring information on the one monitoring object person is further received during the display.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
