Abstract:
A disposable diaper 1 has leak-proof cuffs 6. Each leak-proof cuff 6 includes two facing nonwoven layers 60 having a friction coefficient mean deviation (MMD) of 0.015 or smaller. The leak-proof cuff 6 has a free edge 61 along a lateral side edge and a fixed edge 62 along the opposite lateral side edge. The leak-proof cuff 6 has an elasticized free edge region 64 having an elastic member 63 fixed along the free edge 61 and a fold 66 between the free edge 61 and the fixed edge 62. The leak-proof cuff 6 includes an upper soft region 69 between the elasticized free edge region 64 and the fold 66 and a lower joined region 68 between the fold 66 and the fixed edge 62. The upper soft region 69 has the two nonwoven layers 60 unjoined together or has a lower peel strength between the two nonwoven layers 60 than the lower joined region 68.
