Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating waste water containing coliform bacteria, in which an installation cost and an operation cost are restrained and an influence exerted on the environment is reduced.SOLUTION: The method for treating waste water containing coliform bacteria comprises the steps of: adding a cationic flocculant to the waste water containing coliform bacteria and fibers; and adding an anionic flocculant to the cationic flocculant-added waste water to obtain flocculant-containing waste water. The obtained flocculant-containing waste water contains flocks each having the flock diameter of 0.5-10 mm. The total projection area of the flocks each having the flock diameter of 0.5-10 mm is 70% or more of that of the whole of all flocks. The turbidity of the treated water, which is obtained by removing all flocks from the flocculant-containing waste water, is 0 to 30 degrees.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
