Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a load on waste water treatment of waste liquid generated in a process of producing high-purity silver.SOLUTION: A method for treating the waste liquid generated in producing high-purity silver includes: a silver leaching step of leaching out silver from a smelting intermediate, which contains silver, through a sulfite aqueous solution; a silver chloride depositing step of depositing silver chloride by neutralizing the leached leachate; and a silver chloride refining step of refining the deposited silver chloride by oxidizing it in an acid aqueous solution, thereby producing high-purity silver. The method further includes: an SOremoving step of removing SOfrom the waste liquid generated in the silver chloride depositing step and/or the silver chloride refining step, by adding sulfuric acid and/or hydrochloric acid to the waste liquid; and a sulfite aqueous solution preparing step of obtaining the sulfite aqueous solution by causing an alkali metal hydroxide and/or alkali metal carbonate aqueous solution to absorb SOgas generated in the SOremoving step. The sulfite aqueous solution obtained in the sulfite aqueous solution preparing step is utilized as a sulfite aqueous solution to be used in the silver leaching step.
