Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing method for metal scrap capable of easily separating a reusable high-quality stainless steel from the metal scrap comprising a metal including stainless steel, recovered from a burning residue of shredder dust.SOLUTION: A processing method for metal scrap includes: charging a metal scrap (stainless steel-based scrap in which copper or the like is mixed therein) comprising a metal including stainless steel, recovered from a burning residue of shredder dust in a mixer such as a drum type mixer, together with a surface treatment material; removing dirt such as rust and dust on the surface of the metal scrap while mixing; recovering the metal scrap in which dirt on the surface is removed by separating the surface treatment material; and then separating the metal scrap in which the surface dirt is removed into the magnetically adsorbed materials such as stainless steel and magnetically non-adsorbed materials such as copper or brass by a highly magnetic sorter.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
