Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently treat borofluoride-containing waste water using polyaluminum chloride.SOLUTION: The method for treating borofluoride-containing waste water of the present invention includes: a borofluoride decomposition stage; a solidification stage; and a solid-liquid separation stage. The borofluoride decomposition stage is a stage of decomposing boron and fluorine in waste water and includes: a step of adding polyaluminum chloride in an amount in accordance with the boron concentration in the waste water to be treated; a step of, if required, regulating the pH of the waste water after the addition of the polyaluminum chloride; and a step of, if required, adding a sulfate ion-containing substance to the waste water after the addition of the polyaluminum chloride. The solidification stage is a stage of adding a calcium compound to the solution obtained by the borofluoride decomposition stage to precipitate the boron and fluorine as solids. The solid-liquid separation stage is a stage of subjecting the solution obtained by the solidification stage to solid-liquid separation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
