Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating iron steel dust which is more advantageous for energy and economy than a Waelz method; a method for producing zinc; and a method for producing reduced iron.SOLUTION: A method for treating iron steel dust includes: adding a calcium compound containing the number of moles of Fe and an equivalent or more of the number of moles of Ca in the iron steel dust, to iron steel dust containing zinc; and heating and reducing the iron steel dust to which the calcium compound is added in the furnace. A ratio of the number of the moles of Ca in the calcium compound with respect to the number of the moles of Fe in the iron steel dust is adjusted to 1.3 or more and 1.4 or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
