Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain fine and highly strong slag by accelerating the reducing reaction of such oxides as an iron oxide and POin steelmaking slag and by suppressing the residue of a carbon source for reduction in the slag based on the suitable regulation of the additional amount of the carbon source for reduction in a method for treating the steelmaking slag where the steelmaking slag is treated by melting reforming reduction.SOLUTION: In the method for treating steelmaking slag where the steelmaking slag is treated by the melting reforming reduction by adding an SiO-containing reforming material and the carbon source for reduction to the steelmaking slag while heating the steelmaking slag housed in a reaction vessel in which molten iron is reserved by a heating means, the carbon source for reduction is added so that the content of carbon is 5 pts.mass or more and 25 pts.mass or less based on 100 pts.mass of the steelmaking slag through the treatment by the melting reforming reduction and the SiO-containing reforming material is added so that the basicity of the steelmaking slag after the treatment by the melting reforming reduction is 0.7 or more.
