Abstract:
PURPOSE:To find an accurate distance distribution over the entire screen by correcting the misrecognition of a corresponding position due to plural similar bodies in a stereoscopic image. CONSTITUTION:If it is misrecognized by stereoscopic matching between a right and a left image that both points C1 and d2 correspond to a point at, it is known that the points C1 and d2 are similar through the point al since it is made evident by searching for a similar position in the left image that the points a1 and b2 are similar; and the correct correspondence relation that the point a1 corresponds to the point c1 and the point b2 corresponds to the point d2 can be derived on the assumption that the array order of columns P1 and P2 is the same between the left and right images. Further, when it is misrecognized that both the points c1 and d2 correspond to the point b2, and further when it is misrecognized that the point c1 corresponds to the point b2 and the point d2 corresponds to the point a1, the correct correspondence relation can be derived similarly. Consequently, the misrecognition of the correspondence relation due to plural similar bodies is corrected at a high speed and the accurate distance distribution over the entire screen can be found.
