Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a dryer capable of rapidly drying and concurrently sterilizing an organic material.SOLUTION: A dryer 1 for an organic material, comprising an agitation tank 2 having a feed port 22 and a discharge port door 15 for an organic material, a shaft structured to be axially rotatable and extending approximately in the horizontal direction in the agitation tank 2, with one or a plurality of agitation blades 3 outwardly extending from the periphery of the shaft, a jacket body 23 which is disposed to surround at least the bottom part of the agitation tank 2 and includes a flow path communicating with a superheated steam generation source, and an exhaust port 16 disposed on the upper part of the dryer 1, is characterized in that a plurality of ejection holes penetrating through to the inside of the agitation tank are formed so that superheated steam can be ejected onto the bottom part of the agitation tank 2. The dryer 1 is further characterized in that the inner face of the bottom part of the agitation tank 2 is curved so as to form a roughly uniform clearance between the tip of the rotating agitation blade 3 and the inner face of the bottom part of the agitation tank 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
