PURPOSE: To provide an indoor unit in which a body is largely lowered in height while obtaining large heat exchanging area and suction area.

CONSTITUTION: The air conditioner comprises a body 1 having a diffuser 3 at an upper front surface, suction ports 6a, 6b at a lower front surface, and a fan casing 10a for communicating the diffuser 3 with the ports 6a, 6b, a cross flow fan 11 opposed to the diffuser 3, and an indoor side heat exchanger 12 so provided in an air duct at a lower side of the fan 11 as to be bent substantially in a V shape and to hold the fan 11 from below. Thus, a large heat exchanging area is obtained by the exchanger 12, a height of the body 1 is largely lowered in combination of the fan 11 and the exchanger 12 to perform a space conservation, and further a large suction area is obtained by the ports 6a, 6b at the lower front surfaces of the body 1.
