Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive device which can maximize a cruisable distance when either one of two capacitors fails by allowing electric power of the other capacitor to be effectively used.SOLUTION: A drive device comprises: a first capacitor; a second capacitor; a conversion section which converts output voltage of the second capacitor; a drive section which is driven with electric power supplied by at least the first capacitor or the second capacitor; a detection section which detects failure of the first capacitor; and a control section which controls the conversion section on the basis of either a conversion mode where the conversion section converts the output voltage of the second capacitor in accordance with the output voltage of the second capacitor and target voltage applied to the drive section or a direct output mode where the conversion section directly outputs the output voltage of the second capacitor. When the detection section detects the failure of the first capacitor, the control section controls the conversion section which converts the output voltage of the second capacity in either the conversion mode or the direct output mode on the basis of the output voltage or remaining capacity of the second capacitor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
