Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle drive device capable of suppressing increase in the size of a constitution related to drive of a vehicle even if the functional safety is guaranteed.SOLUTION: A vehicle drive device 1 includes a synchronous motor 2 as a drive source of a front wheel 7 and an induction motor 3 as a drive source of a rear wheel 11. The synchronous motor 2 is composed of a stator around which a coil is wound and a rotor which has a permanent magnet. The induction motor 3 is composed of a stator around which a coil is wound and a coil type rotor around which a coil is wound. The vehicle drive device also includes: primary side inverters 15, 16 which are respectively connected to the stator of the synchronous motor 2 and the stator of the induction motor 3 so as to supply power; and a secondary side inverter 17 which is connected to the coil type rotor of the induction motor 3 so as to supply power.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
