PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive force controlling method for a vehicle that can reduce variation in acceleration and deceleration response due to difference in gear ratio, and to provide a drive force controlling device.SOLUTION: When a target drive torque tTc of a vehicle is changed, a drive force controlling method for a vehicle regulates a change rate of target power source torque tTps so that post-regulating target power source torque tTps_lim reaches a value tTps in accordance with the target drive torque tTc in the same reaching time T irrespective of a gear step of AT3, in regulating a change rate of the target power source torque tTps in accordance with the target drive torque tTc.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
