Abstract:
To provide a dynamo-electric motor which has a structure that keeps a commutator from making contact with a brush holder even when a rotator of the dynamo-electric motor moves in an axial direction, prevents damage to the commutator, and prevents power conduction between a brush and the commutator from being obstructed by abrasion powder caused by sliding friction.SOLUTION: A dynamo-electric motor comprises: a shaft; a rotator having a rotational iron core which is attached to the shaft and around which a rotator winding is wound, and a disk-like commutator connected to the rotator winding; a brush that is provided in an axial direction opposite the commutator; a brush holder that presses the brush against the commutator; a radial bearing that supports the shaft in a radial direction; and a thrust bearing that supports the shaft in the axial direction. A first distance, which is a distance between the brush holder and the commutator in the axial direction, is larger than a second distance, which is the size of margin between the shaft and the thrust bearing in the axial direction. A fuel pump comprises the dynamo-electric motor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
