PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply device and a television apparatus that are individually capable of performing protection operation that is appropriate and safe and has the high degree of freedom, depending on various conditions for an over-voltage state with respect to abnormal high voltage and detection time of an AC power supply.SOLUTION: A power supply device 1 comprises: a diode bridge 12 for rectifying power from an AC power supply 2; and a DC-DC converter constituted by an LLC circuit 30. A sub controller detects output voltage of the diode bridge 12 using a voltage detection circuit 16 and includes a circuit for determining an abnormal state of the AC power supply 2 from relation between the output voltage's voltage value and output time. Depending on an abnormal state of the AC power supply 2, a warning message is displayed on a display panel 70 or the power supply device 1 is separated from the AC power supply 2 by melting a fuse 14 or controlling a relay 15.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
