Abstract:
To provide a metal complex exhibiting excellent heat resistance and an electrode catalyst for a fuel cell comprising the same that exhibits excellent heat resistance.
The metal complex is represented by formula (1). In the formula, R1, R2, R3and R4are the same or different and are each a hydrogen atom or a substituent group. R1and R2, R2and R3, and R3and R4may be linked together to form a ring. X1and X2are the same or different and are each -O-, -S-, -N(RA)- or -C(RB)2-. RAand RBare the same or different and are each a hydrogen atom or a substituent group. Two RB's may be the same or different. Y1and Y2are the same or different and are each a hydrogen atom or a substituent group. M is a transition metal or an ion thereof. L is a counter ion or a neutral molecule. n is a numerical value of at least 0. When a plurality of L's exist, they may be the same or different.
