Title:
The electrode for resistance welding
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP6193651
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electrodes for resistance-welding which enable welding objects to be welded with each other even if the welding objects are made of hard-to-weld materials, thanks to large heat generation of the electrodes themselves due to electric conduction, and which hardly react with the welding objects.SOLUTION: Any of materials comprising 5-95 vol.% of W, and 5-95 vol.% of carbides, nitrides, borides and the like of group 4A to 6A metals, is used on at least surfaces of electrodes for resistance-welding, which contact welding objects, respectively. The materials each have a comparatively high electrical resistivity and bring about a large resistance heating amount when used as the electrode and thus, make it easy to weld even a hard-to-weld material. Further, even if a welding metal is a material easy to cause deposition to the electrode, such as aluminum, magnesium or the like, deposition is hardly caused because of low reactivities of the materials. Besides, since the fracture toughness of W is high, the materials can be used for various shape electrodes.
