Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolysis tank of a hydrogen gas generator for performing electrolysis of water by using an ion exchange membrane, capable of fixing the ion exchange membrane and an electrode with simple means and preventing breakage of the ion exchange membrane.SOLUTION: An electrolysis tank 1 for performing electrolysis of water is divided into a hydrogen gas generation tank 1H and an oxygen gas generation tank 1O by an ion exchange membrane IE. Electrode plates 2P, 2M which are connected to an anode and a cathode of a direct current power supply are installed on both sides of the ion exchange membrane IE respectively, the electrode plates are fixed in a state of tightly contacting to the ion exchange membrane, by fastening a case 1HC of the hydrogen gas generation tank 1H and a case 1OC of the oxygen gas generation tank 1O by through bolts. On space parts of the hydrogen gas generation tank 1H and the oxygen gas generation tank 1O for storing water, ribs for pressing the electrode plates 2P, 2M to the ion exchange membrane IE are formed on a peripheral edge part and a center part, respectively.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
