Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic molding coil having a sufficient durability which enables metallic element pipes of nearly elliptical cross-sectional shape and nearly rectangular cross-sectional shape to be molded by pipe expansion and pipe shrinkage, respectively, and a manufacturing method for an automobile bumper stay using the same.SOLUTION: An electromagnetic molding coil 14 with an elliptical cylinder shape, which has a winding part 13 consisting of a conductor element wire 11 with a quadrangular cross-sectional shape spirally wound around the axis of the electromagnetic molding coil 14, is characterized in that the cross-sectional shape of the winding part 13 in an axially orthogonal shape is nearly elliptic cylinder, and in that dimensions of these elliptical cylinder shapes comprise a major axis of a(mm) and a minor axis of b(mm) to make the plan view thickness t(mm) of the conductor element wire 11 satisfy a predetermined expression.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
