Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic switch that is able to extend a contact life by restricting contact exhaustion of a relay and that is able to effectively obtain cleaning effect on the surface of the contact.SOLUTION: A solenoid SL1 has surge restricting means 24 connected in parallel with SL1 coil 9 between the power source side and ground side of an SL 1 coil 9. This surge restricting means 24 is configured such that when an SL1 relay 12 is switched from an on-state to an off-state, some of energy (counter-electromotive force) emitted from the SL1 coil 9 is absorbed and remaining energy SL1 is applied to the SL1 relay 12, thereby causing appropriate arc current to flow between the contacts of the SL1 relay 12. Specifically, the respective anodes of a diode and a Zener diode are connected in series, the cathode of the diode is connected to the power source side of the SL1 coil 9, and the cathode of the Zener diode is connected to the ground side of the SL1 coil 9.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
