Abstract:
In an electronically controlled fuel injection apparatus performing a prestroke control, a prestroke amount is reduced or the prestroke control is inhibited when the engine is operated under a condition of high-speed and small injection amount. The prestroke amount is determined based on an engine speed and a fuel injection amount. The prestroke amount is decreased as an engine speed of the diesel engine is increased and as the target fuel injection amount is decreased so that an uncontrollable state of a fuel injection amount is eliminated when the diesel engine is operated in a high-speed and small injection amount condition. An execution of the prestroke control may be inhibited when it is determined that the diesel engine is operated in a high-speed and small injection amount condition which causes an uncontrollable state of the fuel injection amount.
