Abstract:
To provide a composition suitable for a sunscreen cosmetic which achieves both fresh feeling and high water resistance and exhibits a high ultraviolet protective effect.SOLUTION: There is provided a W/O/W type emulsion composition which comprises an ultraviolet protective agent, a hydrophilic surfactant and a lipophilic surfactant, where the particulate metal oxide is dispersed in the external water phase. Preferably, the hydrophilic surfactant has an HLB of 8 or more and the lipophilic surfactant has an HLB of 5 or less. In addition, preferably, the ultraviolet protective agent is a particulate metal oxide. The emulsion composition is suitable for a sunscreen cosmetic.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
