Abstract:
To provide an energy absorption structure capable of reducing impact force by making an impact absorption stroke due to flexure deformation long as much as possible when impact force is added to a pipe whose both end parts are supported, and the impact force is absorbed by three-point plastic flexure deformation while the pipe is crushed.SOLUTION: An energy absorption structure 1 which absorbs impact force due to that a pipe 2 is crushed while being flexurally deformed when impact force is added to the pipe 2 whose both end parts are supported, includes: support parts 4 disposed in both end parts of the pipe 2 and having projecting circular arc surfaces 3; pedestal parts 6 having recessed circular arc surfaces 5 matching with the circular arc surfaces 3 of the support parts 4, and supporting the support parts 4; and pins 7 arranged so as to pass through a center 3x of the circular arc surface 3 of the support part 4, and a center 5x of the circular arc surface 5 of the pedestal part 6, and rotatably connecting the support parts 4 and the pedestal parts 6 along the respective circular arc surfaces 3, 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
