Abstract:
To improve a fuel synthesis efficiency in an energy conversion system for synthesizing hydrocarbons from H2 and CO by generating H2 and CO by electrolysing H2O and CO2.SOLUTION: An energy conversion system is provided with a fuel synthesizer 10 having an electrolyte 11, a cathode electrode 12, and an anode electrode 13. In the cathode electrode, a H2O electrolysis reaction, a CO2 electrolysis reaction, and a fuel synthesis reaction occur. In the cathode electrode, in an upstream side gas passage 12c, mainly, a H2O electrolysis reaction and a CO2 electrolysis reaction occur, in a downstream side gas passage 12d located on a downstream side from an upstream side gas passage, mainly the fuel synthesis reaction occurs. The upstream side gas passage and the downstream side gas passage are partitioned by a partition part 12e. A gas that flows through the upstream side gas passage and a gas flows through the downstream side gas passage can exchange heat via the partition part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
