Abstract:
To provide an energy storage system the efficiency of which is increased while internal behaviors of multiple power storage devices and the balance of stored energy are taken into consideration.SOLUTION: An energy storage system includes multiple DC/DC converters 6 that are provided so as to correspond to multiple power storage devices 5 and that perform bidirectional conversion of input power and output power by being connected in series with the power storage devices, an AC/DC converter 7 that is linked with a power system and is connected to the multiple DC/DC converters, a power calculator 11 that calculates the system power of the power system on the basis of the voltage and current in the power system, and a control circuit 20 that selects one of a synchronization mode, an overpower mode, and a regeneration mode on the basis of voltages from multiple voltage detection units 14 which are disposed so as to correspond to the multiple power storage devices and which detect the voltages of the corresponding power storage devices, and on the basis of an optimum voltage range within which the efficiency of each of the multiple power storage devices becomes maximum, and that determines, according to the selected mode, a distribution ratio of power-storage-device charging/discharging power command values for the power calculator to smooth the system power, to the multiple power storage devices.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
