Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more reliably actualize proper combustion while reducing cooling loss.SOLUTION: A control device for an engine includes a fuel injection device 21 for injecting fuel into each cylinder 2, and a water injection device 22 for injecting supercritical or subcritical water into the cylinder 2. In a water injection region A2 set in at least part of an operation region of an engine body, at least part of fuel is injected from the fuel injection device 21 into the cylinder 2 in an intake stroke or the first half of a compression stroke, and the supercritical or subcritical water is injected from the water injection device 21 toward a crown surface 5a of a piston 5 in a period from the second half of the compression stroke to the first half of an expansion stroke, namely, from when the fuel injection device 21 finishes fuel injection to when mixture of the fuel and air is ignited in the cylinder 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
