Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure combustion stability while activating a catalyst by performing perturbation control.SOLUTION: A device for controlling an engine includes a purifying device 63 provided in an exhaust passage 60 and including a catalyst 63a capable of occluding oxygen. It performs perturbation control to oscillate the air-fuel ratio of mixture in cylinders 2a at a predetermined amplitude of oscillation while differentiating the air-fuel ratio of the mixture between the cylinders 2a so that the oxygen supplied to the catalyst 63a and the amount of fuel are varied. It restricts the perturbation control when a filling amount as the amount of air sucked into the cylinders 2a is smaller than a preset lower limit filling amount L1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
