Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure output torque of an engine and also suppress increase of in-cylinder pressure.SOLUTION: A controller is applied to a premixed compression ignition type engine including: a fuel injection valve configured to inject fuel into a cylinder; and a water injection valve configured to inject supercritical water or subcritical water into the cylinder. The controller includes: a fuel injection control unit configured to inject fuel from the fuel injection valve into the cylinder at such timing that fuel self-ignites in a latter period of a compression stroke or an initial period of an expansion stroke; and a water injection control unit configured to continuously inject supercritical water or subcritical water from the water injection valve over a series of periods containing a period from a combustion start point when fuel self-ignites until internal pressure in the cylinder reaches a maximum value during combustion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
