Abstract:
To provide preferable operation even when fuel with a different octane number is used.SOLUTION: A control device for an engine 1 burns part of a mixture with combustion accompanied by flame propagation with ignition by an ignition plug 25 and then burns the rest unburned mixture by self-ignition. The control device for an engine includes a control unit 10 for inputting a detection value which is detected by octane value detection means SW5. The control unit 10 controls an injector 6 to execute an intake-stroke injection at high octane number but to execute a compression-stroke injection by retarding injection timing of the intake stroke injection at low octane number.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
