Abstract:
To provide an engine device which enables reduction of loss during operation.SOLUTION: In an engine device, a housing 4 and a first piston member 24 and a second piston member 28, which are supported within the housing 4 in a manner that the piston members may rotate around a rotation axis AX in one direction, form combustion chambers C1 to C4 for combusting a fuel. A first rotary electric machine is connected to the first piston member 24 and rotationally drives the first piston member 24. A second rotary electric machine is connected to the second piston member 28 and rotationally drives the second piston member 28. In a case that pressure rise in the combustion chamber C1, caused by combustion of the fuel in the combustion chamber C1, rotationally drives the second piston member 28, the engine device causes the first rotary electric machine connected to the first piston member 24 to generate driving torque to rotationally drive the first piston member 24 during rotation of the second piston member 28.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
