Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a valve from flip-flopping during fuel cut in an exhaust system for an engine in which the valve is disposed in an exhaust passage.SOLUTION: An exhaust passage 53 includes a first passage (high-speed passages 24b, 25b, 26b) and a second passage (low-speed passages 24c, 25c, 26c) that are provided in parallel with each other, and a turbine housing 560 of a turbocharger 50 is connected to a portion downstream of a collecting portion 54 of the first passage and the second passage. An exhaust system 100 for an engine includes a valve (exhaust variable valve 3) disposed in the first passage and configured to open/close the first passage. A control section (engine control section 7) closes the valve to close the first passage when speed of the engine 1 is lower than a predetermined speed, and opens the valve to open the first passage when the engine speed is the predetermined speed or higher. Even when the engine speed is lower than the predetermined speed, if fuel cut control is being executed, the control section opens the valve.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
